That religion has an impact is becoming increasingly evident in our multicultural society. An understanding of why people act and think as they do can be crucial in many contexts.
The Faculty of Theology at Uppsala University is Sweden's largest research and educational institution when it comes to religion and theology. It is the University's oldest faculty and theological research and teaching has been conducted here since 1477.
The Faculty and Department of Theology offer courses that range from the study of the major world religions to new patterns of values, from the history of religion and text-critical biblical research to psychological, ethical and philosophical studies.
The research that is conducted here has disciplinary breadth as well as representing a variety of specialisms with eleven research disciplines and a wide range of subjects covered in research and teaching.
Here you will meet a modern faculty and department that are constantly interacting with the surrounding society and an educational and research environment that is characterized by breadth of knowledge and professionalism.
