Evin Ismail has a PhD in Sociology from Uppsala University, Sweden. She has researched terrorism for ten years and has written several government agency reports on political Islam and antisemitism. Her doctoral thesis investigates the trajectory of Islamist violence, from the Muslim Brotherhood to the Islamic State.
